Imperial College London is world-renowned for its academic excellence, with the physics department in the global top 10. However, it is staggering how little that achievement is actually being celebrated.

The Physics department is the pinnacle of this Imperial antisocial stereotype.

However, something that has been obvious to me, is that despite Physics students never actually going out, they do genuinely seem to have the desire to do so.
It doesn’t matter how much they want to have fun, they are cursed never to have any.

That is the disease.
Some came to Imperial with it.
Others were infected after enough time being here.
It is very dangerous, and so it is my absolute goal to fight it in every way that I can.

So, I decided to fight fire with fire, and sat alone in front of a computer screen for weeks and designed the Physoc Official App.

I cannot force you to go to an event, but I will definitely try.

Hopefully this will be the tipping point to push you from your normal:

“I do want to go out, but I can’t be bothered to make anything happen, so I guess it would be much easier to just not bother.” - Imperial Physics Student

to a much more enthusiastic:
“I do want to go out, but I can’t be bothered to make anything happen. Then again I did see that there’s a bar night tomorrow around the corner, so I guess it wouldn’t be too hard to turn up for a bit” - Imperial Physics Student WHO JUST GOT SLIGHTLY HAPPIER WITH THEIR LIFE.

SUCCESS.

Download the App today. Be sure to turn on push notifications to enable full functionality, but don’t worry, we won’t spam; all Physoc committee members have the app and would get them too, so that would just be really annoying.

Stop missing events. Make the most of your time at university. Stop moaning about nobody else being sociable. You’re the one not going out.
Get up. Get out. Get on with it.

Welcome to reality physicists.
